Day 1: Tehran
Arrival, airport welcome, transfer to hotel.
A full-day tour in the capital, Tehran. We begin with a walking tour through old Tehran, visiting the Old Gate of Tehran, Golestan Palace, and the Grand Bazaar, a historical and iconic shopping complex. We will also visit the Iran National Museum, the National Jewelry Museum, and the Carpet Museum of Iran to delve into the cultural richness and history of Iran. Overnight in Tehran.
Day 2: Tehran - Kashan
The journey continues with a drive towards Kashan, where the day is filled with visits to some of the city’s most iconic sites. The tour starts with the Fin Garden, known for its historical significance and beautiful layout, followed by a visit to the ancient Sialk Hill, revealing layers of civilization dating back thousands of years. The exploration extends to the traditional houses of Kashan, including the Borujerdiha House and the Tabatabaei House, showcasing exquisite Persian architecture and design. The day also includes a stroll through the local bazaar, offering a glimpse into the vibrant market life. The night is spent in the traditional “Manouchehri House,” providing an authentic experience of Iranian hospitality.
Day 3: Abyaneh - Isfahan
On the third day, the itinerary leads to a drive towards the picturesque village of Abyaneh, known for its distinctive red mud-brick houses and ancient cultural heritage. After exploring Abyaneh, the journey proceeds to Isfahan. Upon arrival and hotel check-in, the evening is dedicated to visiting Isfahan’s old bridges, including the Si-o-se-pol (33-arch) and Khaju bridges. These architectural marvels over the Zayanderud River are not just vital transportation links but also serve as social gathering spots. The night is spent in Isfahan, soaking in the city’s rich historical ambiance.
Day 4: Isfahan
The fourth day is an immersive tour of Isfahan’s heart, the Naqsh-e Jahan Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site that was once the center of Safavid power. The square is surrounded by monumental buildings, including the Shah Mosque (Imam Mosque), known for its stunning architecture and tilework; Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, a masterpiece of Persian architecture; and the Ali Qapu Palace, with its impressive music room and balcony overlooking the square. The tour also includes a visit to the Qeysarie Bazaar, offering a variety of traditional goods and handicrafts. The visit extends to the Vank Cathedral in the Armenian Quarter, showcasing the city’s religious diversity, and the Chehel Sotoun Palace, known for its twenty columns reflected in the waters of its front pool, creating the impression of forty columns. The day ends with an overnight stay in Isfahan, enriched by the historical and cultural insights gained.
Day 5: Isfahan - Matin Abad Eco-Camp
Departing from Isfahan, the tour heads towards the serene Matin Abad Eco-Camp, nestled in the heart of Iran’s central desert. This unique destination offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience the tranquility and beauty of the desert landscape. Upon arrival, guests can engage in various eco-friendly activities, such as desert trekking, camel riding, or simply enjoying the stunning sunset over the dunes. The night is spent in traditional, yet comfortable, accommodation at the camp, providing a peaceful retreat under the starlit desert sky, making for an unforgettable experience of Iran’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Day 6: Matin Abad – Yazd
On Day 6, departing from Matin Abad, we head towards Yazd, with our first stop in the desert city of Naeen to explore its grand mosque and traditional weaving factory, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage. The journey continues to the Towers of Silence near Yazd, ancient Zoroastrian structures dedicated to sky burials. Next, we visit Meybod, where attractions like Narin Castle and the famous pigeon tower highlight the area’s historical significance and architectural ingenuity. The day concludes with our arrival in Yazd, where after checking into our hotel, we spend the night, immersing ourselves in the city’s unique desert architecture and ancient ambiance.
Day 7: Yazd - Zain O din Caravanserai
After a morning tour of Yazd, including the Dowlat-Abad Gardens, Zoorkhaneh, Amir Chakhmakh Square, and the bazaar, we depart the city to immerse ourselves in the desert experience at Zein o Din caravanserai. This ancient caravanserai, with its traditional mud-brick architecture, offers a glimpse into the life of travelers and traders who traversed the desert routes centuries ago. Situated in the heart of the desert, Zein o Din provides a unique opportunity to appreciate the stark beauty of the desert landscape and the ingenuity of historical Persian architectural design.
Day 8: Shiraz
Drive to Shiraz; en route, visit the enormous fig garden in the world at Estahban and the Sassanid palace at Sarvestan. After resting at the hotel, we will have a light evening tour of Shiraz, where you will visit the holy shrines of Shiraz (Shah e Cheragh, Ali, even Hamzeh) and the Quran gate. Overnight Shiraz.
Day 9: Shiraz
We will start our Shiraz tour by the Karmikhani complex, the residential palace of the Zand dynasty. Karim Khan Zand, the founder of the Zand dynasty, chose Shiraz as his capital; we continue to Vakil complex, Vakil Mosque, Bazar, and the public bath remaining from his reign. We also visit the colorful Nasirolmolk mosque. In the afternoon, we will visit the Eram Garden, Naranjestan Palace, and the tombs of world famous poets Hafez and Saadi. Overnight Shiraz.
Day 10: Shiraz - Persepolis - Departure
On an excursion day, you will visit the most magnificent city of the ancient world, Persepolis, which is now registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Persepolis was the ceremonial capital of the Persian Empire during the Achemaenian era. The site, 125,000 sq.m. in area, comprises various reception halls and palaces, private palaces, royal treasury, and fortifications, where we find the tomb of Cyrus the Great and remains of Achaemenian palaces and edifices. We continue our excursion by visiting Naghsh-e-Rostam, the Achaemenian necropolis (city of the dead), before returning to Shiraz.
At the end of the trip, you’ll have the evening to yourself before departing back home.
