Day 1: Exploring Bandar Abbas
We begin our journey in Bandar Abbas, immersing ourselves in the vibrant culture and bustling life of this port city. The day is dedicated to exploring local landmarks and soaking in the city’s unique atmosphere. Overnight in Bandar Abbas sets the stage for our venture towards Lar, with less than 300 km ahead. The journey offers views of the Hormoud protected areas and picturesque villages such as Gachin Oliya, Khor Konari, and Sheikh Abad.
Upon arriving in Lar in the afternoon, the night provides an opportunity to explore this city’s vast groves and reservoirs. Highlights include the Dragon Body Castle and the historically significant Mother Nader’s tomb and Kayserieh Lar Market.
Day 2: Heading Towards Lar
The next day, we recommend continuing the journey to Jahrom, a city reached after about two hours of driving. Jahrom is known for its dense groves, the Zandiyeh covered market, Pir Shabib Gate, Khan Mosque and School, Shafaq Cave, Gadhamgah Fire Temple, and Tal Qala, all awaiting exploration until nightfall.
Day 3: Discovering Sassanid Cities and Castles in Sarvestan
The day is dedicated to the exploration of Sassanid heritage in Sarvestan, featuring sites such as the Sassanid Palace, Tang Qashqe, Tang Ghanibi, and Lake Maharlo. These landmarks offer a deep dive into the rich history of the Sassanid era. The journey then leads south to Firozabad.
Day 4: Exploring Firozabad's Sassanid Heritage
Firozabad, a pivotal pre-Islamic site in Iran, presents iconic Sassanid monuments including Ardeshir Babkan Palace, Dokhtar Castle, the historical city of Gore, and Ardeshir’s coronation site. A full day in Firozabad allows for a thorough appreciation of its historical significance before heading towards the Persian Gulf and Bushehr Port the next day.
Day 5: Exploring Bandar Siraf and Ancient Cities
The final day is reserved for Bandar Siraf, exploring the ancient cities of Rishehr and Siniz in Bandar-e Deylam. For history enthusiasts, Rais Ali Delvari’s house in Bushehr City is a must-visit, offering a fitting conclusion to a journey rich in cultural and historical discovery.
