7 Days
Day 1: Arrival in Tehran
Welcome! Our journey begins as we land at Imam Khomeini Airport and make our way to Tehran, which is about 30 kilometers away. The night will be spent resting in a comfortable hotel, preparing for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Exploring Tehran
Our exploration starts at the heart of Tehran with a visit to the vibrant Tajrish bazaar. This market is the perfect introduction to the bustling Iranian market culture and offers everything we might need for our trip. Next, we’ll discover the world of Iranian cinema at the Cinema Museum, nestled in the beautiful Ferdows Garden. Given the rich history between Iranian and Japanese cinema, this visit is enlightening. Later, we’ll immerse ourselves in the exquisite artistry of Iranian carpets at the Carpet Museum and marvel at the masterpieces in the Museum of Contemporary Art. A visit to Tehran wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the majestic Golestan Palace, a 200-year-old masterpiece of Iranian architecture. We’ll end the day in Tehran, gearing up for our next destination: Kashan.
Day 3: Kashan’s Historical Wonders
At dawn, we set off for Kashan, a city that lies in the heart of Iran. Our first stop is the ancient Tepe Sialk hill, which reveals a civilization dating back 7,000 years. The journey continues to the Fin Garden, an embodiment of Persian garden design, sustained by historic qanats amidst the desert. Kashan is also home to some of Iran’s most iconic traditional houses, like the Tabatabaei and Borujerdi houses, showcasing the elegance of Persian residential architecture. Our day in Kashan concludes with a stroll through the traditional bazaar and a visit to the stunning Aminoddole Caravanserai. Tonight, we experience traditional Iranian hospitality by staying in a classic Kashan house.
Day 4: Abyaneh to Isfahan
The morning takes us to Abyaneh, a historical village known for its scenic beauty and traditional red mud-brick houses. The vibrant attire of the local women adds color to this picturesque village. Our next stop is Isfahan, where the evening is spent admiring its iconic bridges, such as the Si-o-se-pol and Khaju Bridge. These architectural marvels, especially when lit up at night, offer a breathtaking view. If fortune favors us, we might enjoy an impromptu concert under the Khaju Bridge. Overnight in Isfahan.
Day 5: The Splendors of Isfahan
Iran Tours for Japanese continues!
Isfahan, famed for its markets and mosques, awaits us. In the UNESCO-listed Naqsh-e Jahan Square, we explore the Imperial Bazaar, Ali Qapu Palace, and the stunning mosques of Sheikh Lotfollah and Shah. The markets of Isfahan are bustling with artisans crafting traditional Persian handicrafts. The day continues with visits to the Jameh Mosque and Chehel Sotoun, transporting us back to the days of the Safavid dynasty. We spend another night in this historical city.
Day 6: Journey to Shiraz
Leaving the beauty of Isfahan behind, we venture 2,500 years back in time to the ancient sites of Pasargadae, Naqsh-e Rostam, and Persepolis- the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire. Standing among the massive ruins of Persepolis, we’ll feel the echoes of ancient Iran’s glory. The day ends as we arrive in Shiraz, ready to explore its poetic soul.
Day 7: Discovering Shiraz
Our final day is devoted to Shiraz, the city of poetry and gardens. We start with the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, where the morning light transforms its stained glass into a kaleidoscope of colors. The Vakil Complex, including its market, bathhouse, and citadel, offers a glimpse into the city’s rich history. We’ll wander through the Moshir bazaar, a treasure trove of handicrafts and antiques, before relaxing in the serene Eram Botanical Garden. A special cooking workshop prepares us for the evening, followed by a visit to the tombs of the revered poets Saadi and Hafez- a fitting end to our journey. Our adventure concludes with a late-night departure from Shiraz International Airport, carrying memories that will last a lifetime.
