Our journey unveils in Sardasht, a city symbolizing both the resilience of its people and the allure of its natural landscapes. Despite its poignant history of chemical attacks, the city’s spirit and the beauty of sites like Shalmash Waterfall, the Zab River, and the Garmabeh Biston, a Qajar era heritage, invite travelers to explore its rich tapestry. Our path then leads us towards Shnoye and the unique city of Oshnavieh, nestled at the crossroads of Iran, Turkey, and Iraq, celebrated for its cherry orchards and the popularity of its villas among tourists. The journey is further enhanced by the presence of hot springs along the route to Urmia, promising relaxation and natural wellness.

Day 2: Urmia's Charms and Landmarks

Waking in Oshnavieh, we set off for Urmia, a city whose name resonates with the echoes of its majestic lake. Despite the lake’s current state, Urmia is a treasure trove of cultural landmarks, including Shahrbani Mansion, Three Domes Mansion, and the Urmia Museum, among others. An evening stroll around “Band Urmia” offers a culinary adventure with delicious local specialties, setting the stage for the journey ahead.

Day 3: Khoi's Legacy and Cross-Border Ties

Khoy, a city vibrant with history and cross-border significance, stands as our next destination. Renowned for its connection with Shams Tabrizi and its sisterhood with cities across borders, Khoy invites exploration of its heritage and landscapes, including the evocative Puria Valley tombs, showcasing the depth of its historical and cultural connections.

Day 4: Maku's Hidden Treasures and Cultural Gems

Our journey culminates in Maku, a city cradled in a valley where the Zangmar River flows. Upon arrival, the exploration of Maku’s attractions begins, from the historical Zor Zor Church to the intriguing Basalt Stones Valley. The Baghche Jugh Palace, north of the city, offers a glimpse into the region’s architectural beauty and historical significance, marking a fitting end to a journey that traverses the heart of Iran’s northwest, unveiling its cultural gems and natural wonders.
