Day 1: Explore the Old City

Morning: Begin your exploration in the historical city of Yazd, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Start with the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, a stunning three-story facade of arches and niches. Visit the nearby Yazd Water Museum to understand the ancient Qanat system of water supply.

Afternoon: Wander through the narrow lanes of Yazd’s old town to see the traditional mud-brick houses. Stop by the Jameh Mosque of Yazd, renowned for its towering minarets and beautiful tile work.

Evening: Enjoy a rooftop dinner overlooking the old city to see the landscape transform at sunset.

Day 2: Zoroastrian Sites and Local Life

Morning: Visit the Zoroastrian Fire Temple, where a sacred flame has burned continuously for over 1,500 years. Next, head to the Towers of Silence on the outskirts of the city, where Zoroastrians traditionally left their dead to avoid contaminating the earth.

Day 4: Bazaars, Hammams, and Art

1. Zein-o-din Caravanserai

Distance: About 60 km southeast of Yazd on the Silk Road.

Highlights: Stay overnight in the Zein-o-din Caravanserai, a beautifully restored caravanserai that offers a glimpse into the life of traders who traveled along the Silk Road. The caravanserai is circular and provides unique accommodation, with a starry sky view at night.

2. Varzaneh

Distance: Approximately 160 km northwest of Yazd.

Highlights: Known for its stunning desert landscapes, Varzaneh is famous for its white sand dunes. The ancient Ghurtan Citadel and the historic bridges over the Zayandeh River are also major attractions. It’s an excellent spot for cultural photography and experiencing rural Iranian life.

3. Abarkuh

Distance: About 140 km west of Yazd.

Highlights: Visit the ancient Cypress of Abarkuh, one of the oldest living organisms in Asia. The town also features traditional ice houses and a quaint atmosphere that showcases traditional desert architecture.
