Day-by-Day Itinerary
DAY 1 — Tehran to Kashan
Meet your guide in Tehran and travel south toward Kashan, one of the historic cities of central Iran.
After arriving and checking into your boutique hotel, enjoy a gentle yoga session to release travel fatigue and settle into the rhythm of the retreat.
The evening is relaxed, with a Persian dinner and an introduction to the journey ahead.
Accommodation: Boutique Hotel
DAY 2 — Fin Garden & Maranjab Desert
Begin the day at Fin Garden, one of the finest examples of the Persian Garden tradition.
The combination of water, trees, shade, and enclosed garden spaces provides a peaceful setting before leaving Kashan for the desert.
Continue toward Maranjab Desert. As the landscape opens up, the atmosphere changes completely. Practice meditation and gentle yoga around sunset before dinner at your desert accommodation.
Accommodation: Traditional Desert Eco-Lodge
DAY 3 — Sunrise Yoga & Desert Walk
Wake early for a sunrise yoga session among the dunes.
After breakfast, explore the desert on foot with a slow guided walk. You’ll have time to observe the landscape, learn about the desert environment, and experience the silence away from urban areas.
The afternoon is intentionally unhurried. Rest, read, write, photograph the landscape, or simply enjoy the surroundings.
As darkness falls, finish the day with meditation and time beneath the desert sky.
Accommodation: Desert Eco-Lodge
DAY 4 — Camel Trek & Desert Meditation
Start with a relaxed morning yoga practice before heading deeper into the desert.
A camel experience introduces you to one of the traditional ways of travelling through Iran’s desert landscapes. The pace is slow, giving you time to enjoy the dunes rather than simply passing through them.
Later, return to the lodge for rest before an evening meditation session under the open sky.
Accommodation: Desert Eco-Lodge
DAY 5 — Mesr Desert & Garmeh Oasis
Continue toward Mesr Desert and the oasis village of Garmeh.
Garmeh offers a completely different landscape from the surrounding dunes. Palm trees, springs, adobe buildings, and narrow village paths create a small oasis within the desert.
Practice restorative yoga in the quieter surroundings of the oasis before exploring the village and meeting local people.
Dinner features regional homemade dishes and traditional Persian hospitality.
Accommodation: Traditional Eco-Lodge
DAY 6 — Desert Morning & Isfahan
Begin the final desert morning with yoga as the landscape changes with the first light.
After breakfast, leave the desert and travel toward Isfahan.
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxed introduction to Naqsh-e Jahan Square and the historic atmosphere of the city.
After several quiet days in the desert, Isfahan provides a natural contrast: monumental architecture, gardens, bazaars, and city life.
Accommodation: Boutique Hotel
- Asia, Iran, Isfahan, Armenian quarter, Vank cathedral.
DAY 7 — Closing Yoga & Departure
Enjoy one final morning yoga and meditation session.
After breakfast, there is time for a final walk or relaxed exploration of Isfahan depending on your departure schedule.
Your guide will then assist with your airport transfer or onward travel.
Departure: Isfahan
What You’ll Actually Experience
The main difference between this retreat and a conventional sightseeing tour is the rhythm.
There are mornings when you wake before the desert becomes hot, walk across quiet dunes, drink tea in an oasis courtyard, or sit outside after dinner with almost nothing around you but the night sky.
You’ll also experience the contrast between the silence of the desert and the living culture of Kashan, Garmeh, and Isfahan. The retreat leaves space for rest and personal time rather than filling every hour with sightseeing.
Accommodation
Accommodation is part of the experience. Instead of large resort hotels, the journey uses selected boutique hotels and traditional desert eco-lodges. Expect adobe architecture, courtyards, Persian carpets, traditional details, and a quieter atmosphere that fits naturally with the desert setting.
Healthy Persian Cuisine
Food is an important part of the journey. Meals focus on fresh ingredients and familiar Persian home-style cooking rather than heavy international resort menus.
- Fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables
- Rice and saffron dishes
- Grilled chicken and fish
- Yogurt and local dairy products
- Lentil and bean dishes
- Dates and dried fruits
- Persian bread and herbal teas
Vegetarian and vegan meals can be arranged with advance notice.
Practical Things to Know
- Desert temperatures: Days can be warm while nights can become surprisingly cool. Bring layers.
- Clothing: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is recommended. Public dress regulations in Iran apply throughout the journey.
- Walking: Desert walking on sand can be tiring even when the route itself is easy. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- Sun: A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle are useful throughout the desert section.
- Internet: Connectivity can be limited in remote desert areas.
- Yoga: Beginners are welcome. Experienced practitioners can adapt the sessions to their own level.
- Weather: Outdoor yoga and desert activities may be adjusted when weather or local conditions require it.
