Maranjab Desert

The Maranjab Desert in Isfahan Province, near Aran and Bidgol, is a famous tourist attraction known for its high sand dunes, Tamarisk forests, and salt lakes. The desert features a unique landscape, including the historical Safavid-era Maranjab Caravanserai, which now provides lodging for tourists. The best times to visit are during the second half of the year and early spring, with caution advised during cold winter nights. Maranjab’s ecosystem includes diverse flora and fauna, such as saxaul plants, wolves, jackals, and recently spotted Iranian cheetahs.
