Embark on a captivating three-day journey through western Iran, unveiling Kermanshah’s treasures, the enigmatic Qori Qala cave, and the historic city of Sanandaj. Begin by venturing from Kermanshah to Paveh, along a scenic road tracing the Iran-Iraq border. Explore the unique Qori Qala cave, surrounded by tourism facilities and rural houses. Continue to Paveh, a city of historical significance, before driving through winding roads to Oraman Takht, a village rich in culture and history. The third day leads to Marivan, known for its captivating Zarivar Lake and the ancient Nagal Mosque housing the famous Nagal Quran. Traverse the breathtaking mountain road, finally arriving in picturesque Sanandaj, where cultural sites like Abider Park and Khosroabad Mansion await.
Kermanshah Marivan Sanandaj
A south-north road between Kermanshah and Sanandaj will take you to another city in less than two hours. But it is not always good to arrive early. Let’s take a long way this time.
After exploring Kermanshah well and enjoying the Taqbostan and Tekeya of Moaven Al Molk and Sarab Niloufar, look for Paveh Road. This road, which passes through Ravansar and near Javanroud, passes through Paveh and runs parallel to the Iran-Iraq border and becomes very scenic in the border area of Nausud.
At about one hundred kilometers from Kermanshah and after Ravansar, the tourist guide will guide you to a castle in the heart of the earth! This is a strange contrast because the castles are always built on the height of the mountain overlooking the surrounding areas. This castle is called Qori Qala. You have reached the Qoriqala cave. The reason for this name is a court in the village next to the cave, which initially took the name of the cave from this village.
There are suitable tourism facilities around the cave, but the only possible options for accommodation are residential camps and rural houses.
After visiting the cave, continue towards the stepped city of Paveh. This city, which has hosted many events during the Holy Defense period, has now returned to its past prosperity and will be a good host for you.
After Paveh, the road becomes more winding than before. Drive carefully and enjoy the nature of the area. After passing through Dezli and reaching Allah Akbar junction, you can go to Jhalane Pass and the beautiful village of Oramantakht. You will need at least half a day to visit Oraman Takht and visit it briefly.
After returning from Oraman Takht, continue the route and reach Marivan junction. This road leads to Marivan and the beautiful Zarivar Lake, but if you don’t have enough time, change the way to Sarovabad and Negel. The famous Quran of Nagal, one of the oldest Qurans in the world, can be visited in the Nagal Mosque, right next to the road. A small museum is also next to the village mosque, worth visiting.
After visiting Koran Nagel, you have a beautiful mountain roadmap. This road is on the northern side of Shahu Mountain in Kurdistan and takes you to deep valleys and high walls.
The end of this proposed route is the beautiful city of Sanandaj. Abider Park, Kurd House and Khosroabad Mansion are at least the places you should see in Sanandaj.
